When we attach a USB cable to an Canon pixma printer, the computer will try to recognize it and if it has a suitable driver, it can do an automatic installation and print. - if [User Account Control] is displayed, click Yes.
The folder is created and then the file is decompressed. - [Select Language] is displayed; Select your language and then click OK.
- [License window] is displayed; click “I Agree” if you accept the user license agreement.
- Launch of the installer; follow the steps in the window to install the software.
If the printer driver version is installed, [Do you want to save the existing driver or use a new one?] Shown. Follow the steps to install the new version of the driver. And ordered to restart the OS before installing it. - If [Program Compatibility Assistant] is displayed, click [This program is installed correctly].
I finally got the Canon MX850 printing under 10.6 connected by lan. Scanning also works with Image Capture but I,d like to use MP navigator ex and the buttons on the printer 'scan to', that doesn't work. The device doesn't show up in the canon scan utility (cannot register it) and so i can't choose it on the printer menu 'scan to'. The canon network utility also don't show the printer under setup. MP navigator shows an error message 'no suitable driver installed' when i want to start it.
I intstalled: latest cups and ica driver, canon ij network tool, mx navigator ex
Windwos clients work fine, they show up on the 'scan to' menue..
Anyone facing the same problem ? I already wrote caonon but didn't got an answer yet.
