The 4G-LTE variant of the Moto E is considered the 2nd generation version and it launched in early 2015 as a low end Android smartphone. Whilst the Moto G is considered a mid-range device, its hardware specifications are still quite impressive. Unfortunately the Moto E 2nd generation doesn’t follow that same theme and the Moto E launched in 2015 doesn’t have the best hardware. However, the hardware in the Moto E second generation is still capable enough to complete a number of tasks. On the inside of the Moto E there is a Snapdragon 410 SoC which is powered by a quad core 1.2GHz processor and an Adreno 306 GPU. The Moto E also has 1GB of RAM, a large 2,390mAh battery capacity and a 4.5 inch display which has a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The storage on the Moto E is a little limited at just 8GB but Motorola has provided this phone with a microSD card slot so you can upgrade to up to 32GB of extra external storage space.

For a low end device, the hardware in the Moto E isn’t actually that bad and the smartphone manages to operate Android, be used for texts, video watching, phone calls and basic internet browsing without many issues. The version of Android that the Moto E comes with is Android 5.0. Despite being a low end phone, Motorola hasn’t backed out of providing the Moto E with the latest Android OS version and in the future the Moto E should receive an upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The actual software on the Moto E is as close to stock Android as you can get without it being a true stock Nexus experience, so if you’re a fan of the stock Android OS you may want to jump on board the Moto train.
