I personally find having 'Mail for Gmail' very convenient and useful, especially since I can have it open at all times while I'm on the computer working, and during the times I am on the Internet I don't have to stop, open a new tab, and login threw the website.
So I just reformatted my mac computer, and I guess some settings have been wiped. I am taking notes on the Mac Notes app, and I see that the notes are automatically emailed to my Gmail- clogging up my 'all messages' tab. I see that under 'accounts', I have 'Notes' box checked under my gmail account in the system preferences.
